1. Applied Research
This area is organised into six departments, each focused on strategic sectors and equipped with top-level infrastructure and multidisciplinary teams.

1.1 Health & Biomedicine (HB)
Applied biomedical research focused on preclinical drug and therapy development.

1.2 Digital Industry (DI)

1.3 Applied Chemistry & Materials (ACM)

2. Laboratory Testing Services
Leitat offers a comprehensive range of laboratory testing and certification services through four specialised units:

2.2 Product Certification – ONC
Leitat is a Notified Body (No. 0162) designated by the EU and accredited under Regulation (EU) 2016/425 for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Services include:

• EU Type Examination Certificates (Module B) for PPE Category II and III
• Conformity to type with internal production control and random checks (Module C2) for PPE Category III

2.3 CAE Verification
We validate Energy Savings Certificates (CAE), certifying energy savings from efficiency improvements (e.g. lighting, insulation, equipment).

2.4 FIA Homologation
Leitat is the only lab in Spain, and among a few globally, authorised by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) to certify driver and mechanic protective gear.
